Tonori appears aloof, however, he takes his job and Vanguard seriously. Having a laid-back personality, he usually speaks in slightly informal manner, often ending his sentences with "yo". His cool-headed nature is flipped on its head whenever he becomes hungry. As stated by Nanami Gonomi, whenever he becomes hungry, he loses control of himself and goes berserk.
