He cuts a cool, attractive figure, yet occasionally says odd things that make the atmosphere go cold. However, when he is with the Japanese archery club, he conducts himself as the ideal "traditional Japanese-style" young man.

Contrary to his appearance, he is quite the sweets lover; he always keeps snacks in his pockets and the Japanese Culture Research Club room, and he has a particular weakness for Western-style confections. Although the club president, Ushio Azabu, chides him for bringing Western sweets to a club dedicated to Japanese culture, he shows absolutely no sign of mending his ways; then again, their banter is a daily occurrence within the club, so neither of them seems particularly bothered by it.

For some reason, he is uncomfortable around small animals and will silently walk away if one gets too close. Large animals, however, do not seem to faze him.
