She used to worry that her classmates wouldn't remember her name, as "Heki" is a difficult one to read. She is fond of Hikari and Michiru—who remembered her name right away—as well as Akeno, who learned her full name.

To master the art of gunnery, she learned the game of ring toss, approaching it from a physics-based perspective. She excels in subjects relevant to gunnery, such as physics, fluid dynamics, mathematics, geology, and meteorology. However, she is not good at chemistry.

She frequently uses onomatopoeic sounds like "bang" (bakyun). She shares a tendency for wild fantasizing with a certain record-keeper; specifically, she concocts her own scenarios regarding how Hikari and Michiru met—scenarios often involving ruthless, "no-holds-barred" drama.
