Michiru Takeda

She is in charge of gunnery on the Harekaze, primarily operating the rotation of the main guns.

She once dreamed of becoming a gunnery officer on a large warship but had to give up that ambition due to deteriorating eyesight. Nevertheless, she remains determined to work in the field of gunnery and aspires to hold a position related to it. Her failing eyesight is attributed to either excessive studying or her obsession with billiards. She even brought a billiard set aboard the Harekaz*, though she is currently at a loss for a place to set it up.

She has a somewhat sadistic streak and often plays the "straight man" to the scatterbrained Hikari and Junko. She is poor at geography and believes that deer are the famous specialty of Mie Prefecture.

Although she and Hikari attended different junior high schools, they became close acquaintances after frequently hanging out at a café—located roughly halfway between their schools—that offered games like target shooting, billiards, and darts.
