Juzumaru Tsunetsugu

This tachi is said to be one of the Five Great Swords of Japan and is believed to have been crafted by Aoe Tsunetsugu. It is said that Nichiren, a monk of the Kamakura period, carried it for self-defense, and the name is said to derive from the fact that a rosary was wrapped around its hilt.

With his eyes cast down as if in prayer, it is difficult to discern the subtleties of his inner thoughts.
