Ken Katou

Ken Kato is a salesman who lost his job, got swindled out of his house, and was left by his wife and daughter without notice. He hires the members of the Yorozuya to get 30 million yen in order to buy his house back from the loan sharks. He is the first client of the anime series.

After receiving a letter from his daughter a week prior, he is encouraged to become stronger in order to get his house back. With the help of Gintoki and the others, Ken is able to defeat Kariya and stop the loan sharks, albeit his house getting destroyed in the process. Ken ends up buying a new house and reunites with his family, as he gains popularity as a dancing enka singer.
